The 6 train line at Noho’s Bleecker Street train station has just gotten more colorful with some new lighting added for you commute. A LED-light scultpure by artist Leo Villareal was put up on the Uptown platform and its called the “Hive,” i guess because the design looks like a bee hive. The lights are part of the MTA Arts for Transit and Urban Design program which has been supplying art to the subway system since 1985.

A woman was stabbed on the UWS by a mugger early this morning when she refused to hand over her pocketbook. The 27-year-old victim was waiting for a northbound 2 train at w 96th St. when the mugger approached her around 2:30 a.m. (DNA Info says it was 1 a.m.). He took out a knife and demanded her purse, but when she refused, he attacked her, stabbed her in the torso, then took off with the handbag.
A witness told the Daily News that although the woman was bleeding a lot, she ran after the attacker yelling “that’s him! that’s him!” The woman was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, while police are searching for the mugger. At this time, there’s no report that cigarette-rage was involved, but this is what cigarette-rage wants you to think.
