Taki 183 History Of American Graffiti Book Signing:Event

In the early ’70s, a courier from 183rd street in Manhattan left his mark “TAKI 183” around the city that inspired an article in The New York Times called “Taki 183 Spawns Penpals.” This is recognized by some as the birth of the graffiti movement as we know it. Coinciding with graff’s unofficial 40th birthday was this year’s release of Roger Gastman and Caleb Neelon’s enormous The History Of American Graffiti, including a foreword by TAKI 183.

This Thursday, The Hole in NYC will be host to a special The History Of American Graffiti book signing by TAKI 183, accompanied by special guests SNAKE 1, SJK 171, MIKE 171 and ROCKY 184 from pioneering crew Writer’s Corner 188.
