ASAP weighs in on fashion and brands he likes
Menswear and A$AP Rocky have a special connection. The 23-year-old Harlem MC is obsessed with purple kush, purple drank, and, fittingly, high fashion. Take this lyric from his breakout hit, “Peso“: “Raf Simons, Rick Owens, usually what I’m dressed in / Blowin’ blunts, rollin’ doobies up, smokin’ sections.” These are highbrow, avant-garde designers, and A$AP goes nuts for ‘em. In the video for his song, “Wassup“—between scenes of barking Rottweilers and writhing g-stringed women—A$AP’s decked out in a couture holy trinity: Comme des Garçons, Y-3, and Raf. And on the song, he delivers a quintessential lyric: “Clothes get weirder.”
