The other day Jay-z was at Philadelphia to officially announce the Labor Day weekend Budweiser Made in America music festival to benefit the United Way. MTV sat down to discuss, the design of the new Brooklyn Nets logo. The hip-hop legend spoke on the inspiration behind the minimalist black and white artwork, stating that the look took its cues from the bold yet gritty feel of Brooklyn itself while also paying homage to the iconic subway signs of old.
The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) have released “Curbside Haiku”, on the streets of New York City.Its a new safety education campaign composed of 216 signs featuring colorful artwork and haiku by artist John Morse. They are installed at high-crash locations near cultural institutions and middle and high schools citywide to draw attention to the critical importance of shared responsibility among pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists in keeping New York City’s streets safe.This new signs have many people wondering if the city is wasting taxpayer money on more useless signs.more images after the jump
