The birthday celebration tribute mural for street photographer Martha Cooper will be short lived as the Bowery Mural exchanges cans yet again. Next up on the Bowery Mural is a new piece from Bronx graffiti artist CRASH aka John Matos. The new piece seems to feature the classic cartoon Popeye The Sailor Man punching into Crash’s name, we will see as the piece is expected to be done by Friday.

Yesterday was famed graffiti photographer’s Martha Cooper’s birthday. A tribute Martha Cooper Mural was in the works for her at the Bowery Mural by some well known graffiti artist from LADY PINK, HOW, NOSM, FREE5, TERROR161, CRASH, DAZE, BIO, FREEDOM and other graffiti writers.

The Bowery & Houston wall has a new completed piece called Nakagawa up by Lady Aiko replacing past artist who have grased the wall such as RETNA, Kenny Scharf, Barry McGee, Shepard Fairey, Os Gemeos, JR, and Keith Haring. Now that Lady Aiko has completed her piece she becomes the first woman to create art at the famous wall in Lower Manhattan NYC.

Japanese artist named Lady Aiko is replacing Retna’s piece at the Bowery Mural and installing her own piece called Nakagawa and making history in the process as the first female to do a piece on the wall.

The rumors were true as RETNA blessed the Houston Bowery Mural replacing FAILE piece that was cleared out the other day.Famed graffiti photographer Martha Copper took pictures as the Los Angeles based artist put in work during the weekend on this piece supposedly inspired by Raekwon’s Of Wu-Tang’s Lyrics at the center boundaries of both soho & noho.

Hurricane Irene washed away a bit of the mural by the French street artist JR that went up on Bowery earlier this summer .As You cans see the the Kenny Scharf artwork seeping underneath adding flashes of of colors to the black and white mural.
