A documentary that takes a look at the life of Sixto Rodriguez a Detroit musician who wrote an anthem that resonated loudly in apartheid-rule South Africa while he failed to gain national attention in the States. In addition his song Sugarman was sampled by Large Professor for a Nas song called You’re the man from the album Stillmatic. The documentary is directed by Malik Bendjelloul, detailing “Sugar Man” life from past to present.
